It’s Time to Celebrate

Claudia did have her grouchy times though. Every night before bed, Blake would read her a story. But then Blake got a promotion and became the SWAT Team Leader. He was now really tired when he got home from work and was usually in bed before Claudia’s bedtime. So, Marisa started to take over for the bedtime story. It wasn’t that Claudia didn’t love her mother, because she really did love her. But story time just wasn’t the same with her. Blake would use different voices for the characters in the book, and Marisa’s voices just didn’t sound as good. Either way, Claudia usually didn’t enjoy Marisa’s story time!

Claudia's story time
“You call that a story? Ha.”

Now that Daffy was a child and would soon be starting school (and also because she was going to need the best teachers in the whole world to help her), Blake and Marisa decided that it was definitely time to get the girls into private school. Camille was so excited that she rushed to the phone and invited the headmaster over for dinner that night! Marisa wanted everything to be perfect for the visit so she got Blake, Camie, and Daffy busy cleaning up the house, and she started cooking her famous salmon dish. Thank goodness she had spent so much time learning how to cook!

“Please don’t start a fire, please don’t start a fire…”

At 5 o’clock, the doorbell rang and Camie went rushing to greet the Headmaster. She was slightly out of breath when she reached the door, and had to take a moment to compose herself. Now she was wishing she had picked a longer skirt to wear for this meeting! But oh well, the time had come! She put on her best smile, straightened her glasses (which she only wore because they made her look smarter), and gracefully opened the door. The Headmaster wasn’t nearly as mean as she had feared. In fact, he was quite genial. He gave her a big smile and a firm handshake.

“Ok..act cool, act cool…Ohmigosh I love you!!”
