Dinner, Yet so Much More
The parlor seemed to take on a completely different feeling at night. It was hard for Ellie to believe that just hours earlier, she had been sitting on this same sofa, homeless with nowhere to go. As she looked down at the smooth and shining silk of her borrowed gown, she felt like a completely different person than the girl she had been when she first sat here.
Mr. Remmington seemed to understand her very thoughts. “I trust you are feeling a little better now than you were a few hours ago?” he asked in a comforting voice. Ellie could feel his warm gaze upon her. He reminded her so much of her father. The very thought of it brought unwanted tears to her eyes.

“Truly, Mr. Remmington, sir,” she said carefully. She was afraid the tears would spill over if she said anything more, but she knew she must. “I feel almost whole again,” she managed. And in truth she did.
Albus gave her a small smile. She knew he could see the tears pooling in her eyes. Fortunately, he was not quite as good of a mind reader as she was. “Oho, dear child! Do not feel bad for surprising us,” he said sincerely. “Edward was just surprised to see a new face in the house, that is all.” He gave her a reassuring smile.

Ellie decided to stick to this topic; it was much safer territory than her own thoughts. “Sir, if I may ask,” she started cautiously. “Where is Miss Susanna?”
“Mrs. Susanna,” a deep voice corrected her from the doorway. Both Ellie and Mr. Remmington looked in the direction of the voice. Startled, they saw Edward, back from Violet’s story time. “She was my wife,” he said, a little less sharply. “And she passed away 2 years ago about.”

I love it when you update this story but I think it’s funny that it’s still the same day. I mean, not much time has past but so much has happened.
I hope you update again soon.

I love how this story is so much like a movie. Yeah, I would never have the paitence to get pictures like yours, you seem to include every detail like when Ellie was watching Edward go up the stairs. Great update!

Hehehe, thanks Jeanne! This story, in all honesty, actually started out as an idea I have for a book that I want to write. Maybe someday I’ll get along to actually writing it!

Like i have been for the past couple of months on everyone’s blog..I HATE love storys, but somehow, the sims love stories are ok.And i love this story. You are a GREAT writer. You should write that book. As a matter of fact. Start writing now haha jk. But yes, i think you should go for the goal. The beginning of the story is a great way to begin it and it actaully reminds me of a book. So yes i fully back up your notion to write the book.

Awww, thanks Eva! The more of these little updates I write, the more I actually want to sit down and start writing it. Maybe I will. I always have this huge urge to make these posts so much more in depth, but there’s only so much a sim can do! Maybe I will start writing it…

Wonderful update, Paige! It makes me really miss my Victorian Simmies (even though I still play them once in awhile!). Awesome job with the photos; you do have a keen eye for detail. That necklace Ellie is wearing is gorgeous, the way it sparkles — where did you get it? Looking forward to the next update!
