Mayfield: A Saga

Dinner, Yet so Much More

The trio entered the dimly lit dining room. They were all hungry and weary from the day’s events. Ellie in particular, cherished this night. It would most likely be the last time she would dine with the Remmingtons as an equal. Starting tomorrow, her life as a servant would begin. Something she was sure Hester would remind her of later. But for now, she would enjoy herself one last time.

She could still feel the warmth from Edward’s arm, the crisp feel of his pressed tweed suit, the comfortable yet firm presence of his muscular arm. Now, sitting at the elegant dining table across from him, Ellie had to force these feelings away, lest she blush and reveal these intimate, and surprising, thoughts.

Just in time, Martha came in with the first course of dinner. She flashed a reassuring smile at Ellie as she carried in the plates.

As Martha placed a plate of the deliciously appetizing salad in front of Albus Remmington, Ellie thought she noticed a shaking of her hand, a blushing of her cheeks, and a twinkling smile given in return by Mr. Remmington. “It’s the lighting,” she told herself. “I’m weary, and the lighting is playing tricks on my eyes.”

But instinctively, Ellie knew the feelings behind what she had just seen. She knew the beginnings of love. She looked across the table at Edward; his eyes seemed to reach out to her, protecting her from all of her fears. Yes, she knew those feelings. After all, she was experiencing them herself.

  5. Hehehe, thanks Jeanne! This story, in all honesty, actually started out as an idea I have for a book that I want to write. Maybe someday I’ll get along to actually writing it!

  6. Like i have been for the past couple of months on everyone’s blog..I HATE love storys, but somehow, the sims love stories are ok.And i love this story. You are a GREAT writer. You should write that book. As a matter of fact. Start writing now haha jk. But yes, i think you should go for the goal. The beginning of the story is a great way to begin it and it actaully reminds me of a book. So yes i fully back up your notion to write the book.

  7. Awww, thanks Eva! The more of these little updates I write, the more I actually want to sit down and start writing it. Maybe I will. I always have this huge urge to make these posts so much more in depth, but there’s only so much a sim can do! Maybe I will start writing it… :)

  8. Wonderful update, Paige! It makes me really miss my Victorian Simmies (even though I still play them once in awhile!). Awesome job with the photos; you do have a keen eye for detail. That necklace Ellie is wearing is gorgeous, the way it sparkles — where did you get it? Looking forward to the next update!
