Mayfield: A Saga

I’m Baaaaaaaaaaaaack!

So it has been almost a year since my last update. Well, I guess I should give you some reason why that is. This past year has been H-E-L-L for me. I won’t bore you (or depress you) with all of the details, but suffice it to say that when it rains, it pours. My life pretty much did a flip-flop all the way around and back again, and I am just now picking up the pieces. But on a happier note, I have definitely emerged from this a much stronger person and I know that I can handle whatever this game called life wants to throw at me! That being said, I am sorry for my extended absence and for not saying a word about it. Hopefully we can pick up where we left off!

So, here’s a refresher about what I had going on when I left:

–The Brooks Legacy Challenge: I only got to generation 2 before all my other projects took over! So, I’ll be deleting all those old posts. Bye-bye Blake, Marisa, Camille, Daphne, Claudia, Desiree and Dean Brooks. It was fun while it lasted! (I should also mention that when my world broke down, so did my Sims game and everything got deleted. But I’ll cover that in a jiffy!)

–The Montgomery Legacy Challenge: I got pretty far into generation 3 of this one before I left, and sadly, they have been erased from my computer…that’s what happens when you uninstall the sims. Oops. It really sucks too, because I really enjoyed this family. So, I’ll be closing down the other blog that I posted their updates on. No sense in keeping the old, when it’s time to focus on the new!

–Prosperity Challenge: Yeah, didn’t make it through Round 1 on this challenge. Hmmm, maybe I just have a short attention span when it comes to challenges. So these will be erased too, although I may do something with the newscasters I came up with. Those little vignettes were always fun to write.

–Running from a Forgotten Past: Ah yes. My first attempt at actual creative story writing. I wrote this story for NaNoWriMo back in 2005 I think it was. I still love the story, but the lot and all the sims got deleted when my game did; and I don’t have the desire to go back and redo it all.

–Westward Ho!! Challenge: A challenge I made up and shared with everyone, although I didn’t stick around long enough to help it grow. But I’ve decided on something. Wanna know what it is? Keep reading!

What’s up next for Mayfield: A Saga?
Well, that’s a tough question. The answer is: A LOT! I’m finally to a point where I can sit down and enjoy myself again, and the sims is #1 on my list. In fact, I’ve already got something in the works! I have decided to continue on with my Westward Ho!! Challenge. I wrote an introduction to the families, and also the first two posts way back last summer. So, I’m going to keep those on the site. But, didn’t you delete your game, and thusly your WHC characters, you ask? Why yes. Yes I did. Luckily though, I know exactly where I downloaded everything and perhaps even more luckily, those sites are still up and working! So, I’ve re-installed the game (and all the new exp’s) and I’ve re-downloaded just about all of my western-historical custom content that I had before. Notice I said “just about”. I’m still searching for a bunch of the buy and build mode objects, but that’s not as important to me as the sims themselves. I also was smart enough to write down my story ideas way back when, and I still have them! So, I’m picking up with those characters right where I left off. I’m super excited, and hopefully you are too!

Want to see where I left off?
Check out these four posts and you’ll be caught up with my Westward Ho!! Challenge (WHC). I have the next update written, now I just need to sit down and take the pictures. I’m thinking the new update should be sometime this week. I have to get back in touch with all my previous readers, so I’m not just updating to myself! But definitely soon you will see the next update! Man it’s good to be back!

  3. Sounds like a great plan, Paige! I can’t wait to see what you do with your Westward Ho families! Let me know if you need help finding the historical items. I still can’t find my Timely Finds list, but I might be able to remember where a particular item was, if you’re having trouble!
