Births & Birthdays

I know it’s been awhile since my last Brooks’ Legacy Update, but I miss them terribly! So here’s an update about what’s happened with them! Last we saw of them, Blake and Marisa were expecting their 4th child and desperately hoping for a son to carry on the family name. Camille, or Camie for short, was in the midst of her teenage years and very happy to have finally been accepted into private school. Daphne, or as her family lovingly calls her “Daffy”, is as absent-minded as ever. And last but not least, Claudia was a happy and joyful toddler. Now to see what’s happening!

Blake Brooks was the proudest father in the town. His three beautiful daughters were happy and growing faster than he could believe. Camille was already in the middle of her highschool years, Daffy had not failed out of school yet (which was a miracle in and of itself), and little Claudia would be having a birthday soon and joining her older sisters in school. As Blake looked around at his daughters, he just couldn’t believe how fast they were growing up.

It’s Time to Celebrate

The Brooks kids were growing up so fast! Already it was time for Daphne and Claudia both to have a birthday. The family wanted to have a huge birthday bash for the two girls, so they decided to throw a joint party. Marisa hadn’t been feeling well lately, she was pretty sure she had caught the flu from some bad guy that she had caught at work one day, but nevertheless she spent loads of time in planning the party. The balloons were inflated, the cakes were baked and decorated, and the party buffet had been delivered. At 5pm the guests were starting to arrive and the party music started blaring! It was so loud what with all the dancing, laughing, and eating!

A New Baby

Marisa felt sharp pains in her stomach one night a few weeks before the due date of her third child. It was highly unlikely that she was going into labor, but nonetheless she told Blake that she thought she was having contractions. Blake tried to comfort his wife and tell her that it was probably just something she ate. There was no way this baby would be born so premature. But Marisa had a strange feeling that the baby was coming sooner than planned; however, she followed her husband’s advice and went to bed early that night.

A Time for Growing

“Another little girl…she’s so beautiful,” Blake Brooks thought to himself as he held his new daughter for the first time. His wife, Marisa, had given birth to their second child while he was at work and the repair-woman who happened to be there to fix the TV had called to give him the good news. He rushed home to find a new little baby sleeping peacefully in the new nursery. He just had to hold her. She looked just like her older sister, Camille. With what looked like brown hair and those baby blue eyes, this new baby definitely took after her daddy.

Expecting

As the months passed, the Brooks family was finally able to confirm the happy news: Marisa was pregnant! Even though Marisa was a little worried about how this would affect her career, she was happy to be having another baby. Blake couldn’t wait for the birth of his second child, and he was secretly hoping that it would be a boy to carry on the family name. Marisa vowed to enjoy this pregnancy and this time in her life. She soon took up the serene practice of meditation, which helped soothe her nerves tremendously about her hopeful career change and the upcoming labor.
